The Continuing Resolution (CR) that allows funding for the federal government expires what are you in foron September 30th. It must be renewed in order for the doors to stay open in Washington. The CR is the best chance we will get to withdraw funds from ObamaCare. This can be done by attaching bills by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or Congressman Tom Graves (R-GA) to the CR, which will totally defund ObamaCare.

But for the Cruz/Graves effort to have teeth, Republicans in both chambers of Congress must all be committed to absolutely refusing to vote for any spending bill that contains funding for ObamaCare.  Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) are leading the charge to get their colleagues to commit to this approach, by putting their signatures to a letter affirming that they will refuse to vote for a CR that contains ObamaCare funding.

Support for the Cruz/Graves bills is absolutely meaningless without ALSO SIGNING THE LEE/MEADOWS LETTER. Harry Reid and his Democrats will have no incentive to compromise unless they know the Republicans are willing to take a hard stance – even allowing the government to be shut down, if necessary – in order to stop the catastrophically unworkable and unaffordable health care law from taking effect this January.

Unless you want Obamacare, it is ESSENTIAL that you call Congress Members that are posturing a  lot, but actually doing NOTHING to PREVENT Obamacare from going into effect. TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Don’t put off calling your elected representative because you think your voice doesn’t matter. The onslaught of calls over Syria, probably more than ANYTHING ELSE, stopped Obama from taking us into a war that could have led us into another Middle East quagmire or worse.

Click HERE to READ MORE and to see where your Congress members REALLY stand on Obamacare. (SPOILER: BOTH Jackie Walorski AND Marlin Stutzman not only signed Meadows’ letter, they co-sponsored Graves’ bill — kudos to Jackie and Marlin. As for our Senators, ahem!)

Jackie WalorskiLast week, U.S. Rep. Jacki Walorski sent a letter to President Barrack Obama requesting a plan to address the lack of timeliness for VA claims, particularly a decision about the electronic transfer of medical information between the Department of Defense and the VA.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs office in Indianapolis has a “horrible track record,” Walorski said, and claims filed through the office can take, on average, 443 days to be processed or 612 days for a first-time filer. “There is a backlog and we’re aware of that. Everybody’s aware of that,” said Ron Lundy, head of the Elkhart County Veterans Service Office.

Walorski also wondered about the potential impact of a controversial 2.3 percent medical device tax on military veterans needing, say, artificial limbs due to injuries suffered in combat. She and others in Indiana’s legislative delegation sent a letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs on May 1 asking for more precise information on how the department plans to deal with increased costs brought on by the tax, which went into effect Jan. 1.

Rep. Walorski presses VA Undersecretary Petzel about health care benefits for veterans.

Americans for Prosperity – Indiana (AFP-IN) is launching a statewide effort to put grassroots pressure on Joe Donnelly. Donnelly’s votes for increased government spending and higher taxes will be the focus of the effort. The grassroots project is channeled through the website www.HowsThatCupofJoe.com. The website educates Hoosiers on the failed economic policies supported by Congressman Donnelly, and a petition so Hoosiers can contact Donnelly directly.

In addition, AFP-Indiana’s field coordinators will be organizing AFP-Indiana’s 25,000 grassroots activists to make phone calls and knock on doors in order to share this information with their fellow Hoosiers and get them to contact Donnelly in the weeks and months ahead.

“Joe Donnelly’s votes for government-run health care, increased spending and higher taxes is something that every Hoosier should be aware of,” stated Chase Downham, Indiana State Director of Americans for Prosperity.

“We are going to work hand-in-hand with grassroots activists across our state to put pressure on Joe Donnelly, and remind him that Hoosiers oppose the runaway spending and increased debt that is all too common in Washington, D.C.”

Joe Donnelly voted for the $2 trillion government takeover of health care, $1 trillion failed stimulus efforts and voted against a permanent repeal of the death tax at the federal level.

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is a nationwide organization of citizen-leaders committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity. AFP believes reducing the size and intrusiveness of government is the best way to promote individual productivity and prosperity for all Americans. Americans for Prosperity does not support or oppose candidates for public office. For more information, visit www.americansforprosperity.org

Richard Mourdock says Obama should NOT sign the Small Arms Treaty on July 27. He also thinks healthcare should be “patient-centered”, not “government-centered”.

The Indiana Republican Victory Center cut the Ribbon today to kick off the ‘Defeat Obama Campaign’. And, for any of you, who might be wondering where Richard Mourdock stands on Obamacare, the Small Arms Treaty and the Law of the Sea Treaty (L.O.S.T.), No Link News Service was on the scene and not afraid to ask…

Right or wrong in America

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Mitt Romney attracting 47% of the vote, while President Obama earns 44%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Last week, the president received an immediate bounce following the Supreme Court ruling on his health care law. On the night of the ruling, the single night poll results were by far the best recorded for Obama in many months. Over the past few days, the numbers have returned to where they’ve been for most of the past month—Romney up slightly among likely voters in a very close race. See tracking history.

On the Generic Congressional Ballot, Republicans now hold a narrow one-point advantage.

Political conservatives are following the election more closely than moderates or liberals. Fifty-one percent (51%) of conservatives are following the race daily. Among moderates, 32% are that interested. Thirty-four percent…

GrrrGraphics on WordPress

It has been too long since I’ve penned a cartoon, but commercial art has kept me busy and I must pay the bills. I’ve had the couch potato idea lodged in my brain for a while and it’s time it came out. I don’t want to castigate my fellow Americans too much because many are starting to wake up to the fact that a police state IS being slowly put into place. Recent developments such as the TSA and NDAA prove it. Next we will face armed spy drones.

Ten years ago few Americans knew what the Federal Reserve was or what they did. The Fed wanted to keep it that way. Today many know it’s a ruse by elite private bankers to enslave us with their debt money while enriching and empowering themselves. They and the globalists have hijacked our country. A few years ago you’d get laughed at…

The Rio Norte Line

I’m no lawyer, but I don’t need to be to tell you what is coming in the near future.  Predicting the events of the near future is easy: all you have to do is read history to see and understand what is happening now.  That will also tell you what is about to happen next.  The truly hard part is accepting the reality that America is dead and the world is entering the early stages of a long, dark, evil period in the history of man – a period there is little chance mankind will ever escape unless we stand and fight now.

The Supreme Court ruled that the mandate is unconstitutional because it exceeds the scope of the Commerce Clause.  The Court then upheld the whole law by saying the mandate is actually a tax and that the Constitution does grant the power to tax a non-action.  So let’s…

Will You Do It? – Asks ‘ American Cop’ Magazine

29 Friday Jun 2012

Posted by HattieBelle in 2nd Amendment, Affordable Care Act, Bill of Rights, Civil Rights, Guns, Liberty, NRA

‘American Cop’ posed this question to law enforcement in the June edition of its magazine: “WOULD YOU, personally, go out and confiscate firearms from law abiding citizens — even if it goes against your personal opinion regarding the constitutional rights of citizens — on the order of an administrative leader of your agency? Would you put your foot down and say, ‘No, that’s not legal, it’s not right, and I won’t do it’ — all the while risking being disciplined or fired? Or would you simply do your duty, as it were? ‘I was only following orders.’

“Don’t think you could never be in such a position, just look at New Orleans after the hurricane, when the city cops, following orders, did that very thing.”

Some of the responses from members of law enforcement:

“I would quit first. Unlawful orders are not to be obeyed.”

**********************************

“I would refuse. Further, I would order my officers to disobey such an order. We have no responsibility to obey unlawful orders.”

**********************************

“I don’t think it would be as simple as all that. Illegal orders are either done gradually and incrementally, or are cloaked in some distracting emergency, so they seem to have at least some legitimacy. Overlapping authority, even military involvement is not out of the question. The people who would do such a thing are nothing if not crafty. By the time you realize they are out to get you, they have got you.”

**********************************

“Absolutely I would and for several reasons.

1st. my job is on the line. I may not like it, but I will follow orders. If I don’t and someone is killed because of my inaction to follow orders, I may be left high and dry by my dept.

2nd. I have a gun. I will get to keep my gun. Nobody will take my gun home because I am the law. I will take your gun. See #1 above.

3rd. I believe in the Constitution, but it is a living document. With the way gangs and illegals are today, I want all the guns off the street. Only law enforcement should own guns. You don’t have the ability or desire to train and be proficient with a weapon. A single shot shotgun is about all you need for home defense and I’m really pushing my comfort zone to accept that.

4th. I will confiscate any weapon I find. You have a gun? You have a permit? Your gun is mine. I’ll let you spend a few thousand dollars with the judge to get your gun back if you really want it that bad. It doesn’t cost me a thing to confiscate your weapon, but it will cost you lots of time and lots of money to get it back. If need to depending on the weapon I may add charges even if I have to make them up to keep you away from the gun.

5th. I am sick of the .gov is coming after us. I know barrel jerkers like so many gun nuts are hoarding guns and ammo. Keep it up, because when we do come for them, I already know your neighbors won’t support you. Why? Because I am the law. You are guilty till the judge tells me you are not.”

**********************************

“If you think I’m going to let my wife and kids go hungry because I got fired rather than round up some redneck’s high powered assault weapons, you’re a dumba**”.

**********************************

Nope, no way. My agency made me swear an oath to the constitution when I hired on, and I seem to remember something waay back in the academy even in which the “I was only following orders” excuse was given drubbing it deserved.

**********************************

“I would recommend everyone read John Ross’ Unintended Consequences to get an idea of how to deal with ‘public servants’ who have forgotten who there masters are.”

**********************************

“Thank you all for your comments. So far, I confess they are going as I anticipated, except for the posting by “Omar Little.” If indeed he is an officer, his is the response I fear the most. The sense of entitlement I’ve noticed among some officers does not bode well for the future. “I have mine, so to hell with you” seems to be the common thread among them.

The founding fathers did, indeed, risk life and property (and many lost both) in their quest to found this country. I’m honestly not sure some (many?) of today’s LE officers are made of the same stuff. Apparently, from the tone of a few of these posts, it seems they are not.

I too think if it comes (as it is happening all the time) gun confiscation will arrive quietly in the form of taxes, garnished wages, utilities taxed until guns are turned in, ammo with 5,000 percent tax added, and who knows what else they’ll think of. I honestly doubt cops will ever try to physically confiscate guns … there would simply be too many dead cops, too fast. They’ll back-door it. But as officers, I wonder, will we watch it happening and sit idly by? Too afraid to lose our wave runner in the garage, or our paid vacations to say, ‘Hey wait, you can’t do that.’
Your thoughts?

I’ll follow-up in a future issue with some of the posted comments.“
