As the temperature increases, the energy companies in the region find that people’s utility bills spike up accordingly. Those sudden spikes have been leading to more Elkhart County families seeking help.

Local organizations working together to help low income, struggling, and unemployed residents pay their bills include Elkhart Community Church Services, Open Door, Inc. (for Elkhart County residents living south of Goshen), Family Christian Development Center (for residents in the Wa-nee School District), Real Services, Inc. as well as Elkhart County’s Township Trustees and the Salvation Army.
